The temple of Hercules Invictus / Victor is without a doubt one of my favourite sights in Rome. I am grateful to QuintusCinna Cocceius for this space dedicated to that fine monument.
In turn, I would like to dediate these 2 photographs taken in the Musei Capitolini to QuintusCinna, which have to do with the temple in question.
Firstly, the base of a statue - perhaps the gilded bronze one from the 2nd century - in any case a statue of Hercules in or near the Forum Boarium, placed by Pope Sixtus IV on the Capitoline, then donated by Pope Gregory XIII :
