They definitely are, and most of all, they are fun. I love his books since I first laid hands on them; the publisher has named them 'memories of a China that never existed'. I don't know if they belong to the genre Shuai Tiao refers to on his 'hood home page. My favourite is the second volume, 'The Story of the Stone' - and I'm sure you will just love the character Moonchild ... in a way he reminds me of a certain persona here at AW. *laughs*

Oh yes, the peacocks are thriving and are already lingering everywhere. The kois are quite jealous by now; to their opinion the peacocks attract too much admiration ... *grins*
