Except such boxing now has to be metaphorically these days--can't so much as touch the little darlings any more. Still, one can finesse it.

A case in point was today. The temps are finally up and so is the humidity. The snow is melting. Middle school students are getting even more squirrelly. Fifth period was especially like that today. So I started cracking down on their ill behaviour.

After a bit, one girl whines, "Why are you so mean, Mr. S?"

I looked over at her, lowered my voice just a bit and quietly said, "You haven't seen mean yet."

You could actually hear the gulps.

I love my job. Hoo rah.
