An Ancient Stone

An ancient stone
Of amber glass
Engulfed by fire
But always lasts

This ancient stone
Can bring death
To any mortal
That crosses its path

So deep within the earth
It is hidden
On a knotted pedestal
In this land that's forbidden

Always there
To keep it safe
Are golden guardians
With lifeless faces

Blackened wings,
Hooves and talons
These beasts are born
And bred for battle

The stone brings power,
Famine and plague
And nothing mortal
Can be saved

It causes thirst
That dries the soul
And evil thoughts
Begin to flow

So come not near
Or try your might
These winged soldiers
Love to fight
