Please check that all the following are done:

Choose the bgcolor by clicking the round thing, and change the color from the chart or by typing in the RGB value (eg. black= #000000)

After that you see the text: "Background Image To change the background of the page, please choose an image from your library below or upload one here. Please do not type a number in this field -[]-". If there's a number in it, take it off, that takes off the default background image and lets your bgcolor to show.

Only after doing all that, click "Submit Query". The bgcolor should work now. If still problems, post again on this thread, and I'll notify a demi to check/fix your page.

On the image loading: I think if their loading to the right, that you're using the instructions found at the image gallery (after clicking the image). The instruction window gives you this: ##image 112784 100 right##... you need to take off the word "right" (which aligns the image to the right) and the number "100" (which makes the image smaller, eg. 100 pixels in height): ##image 112784##

If you want your pictures to appear smaller, and show up "not as gray blur", you'd have to convert them to gifs; jpgs show up as gray blur when decreased in size at AW due to old server bug (which should not be an issue anymore as we are on a new server, but maybe old pics still behave the old way?)
