rotfl - my first impulse after the episode was over, was to race here and post ZOWZA!!!!! with exclamation points. I decided to wait to see if I'd calmed down by this morning. I see I wasn't the only one . . .
ZOWZAZOWZAZOWZA!!!
OK, to everyone with whom I bet this past week that Pullo's kids were REALLY dead - I can't believe the way the sneaked in the fact that they are - presumably!? - enslaved and being taken into the country. It took me an astounded second even to realize who was in that (literally) bloody cart.
In the last 5 seconds of the show - wow!
Great bits from No. 14 IMHO:
The fight between Antony and Octavian. Heart-stopping is right.
The meeting between Antony and Cleo. Why do I think she's got twice his brains and 3 times his calculation? Watch out, Antony!
The scene at the party where Atia whispers scatological insults in Cleo's ear and the look on the Queen's face thereafter
The look on Vorenus' face as his former comrade-in-arms signs up. How is it POSSIBLE for Kevin McKidd to look so utterly evil when he used to look so utterly decent? (I keep thinking "and this was a Senator of Rome"?)(I'm also with those rooting for Vorenus to reform. It's hard to watch him be one of the Bad Guys!)
The tenderness with which Pullo oils up the razor to cut Vorenus' grieving beard (BTW, that's quite true - they grew beards and refused to cut their hair when grieving. Caesar allegedly did so when a legion was wiped out in Gaul)
Also, is anyone else getting the impression that Eirene's turning into rather a bitchy type?
Guess - that the woman hired to be the whoremistress will turn into someone's lover at some point . . .?
And definitely this should be on a T-shirt:
Die screaming, you pigspawn trollop"!
