    This device clearly shows how little we know about the people of those ages, and how distorted our perception is. I like the quote of the end of the article: "Gosh, if they can do that what else could they do?". We always consider us so utterly smart compared to the people a few thousand years ago.

    What I don't quite get is: What is new? I know that just about everyting the CNN article states has been known for many years.

    The real new thing for me is the picture. Is looks so fresh and new that I can't really believe it is true. This device has been at the bottom of the sea for about 2000 years. All the pictures I have seen so far showed a much more corroded and crumpled device. Magically they have managed to turn this into something brand new. I just wonder.
