A letter arrives for Cnaeus Ulpius Sissena:
Dear Cnaeus Ulpius Sissena,
Greetings general, my name is Publius Claudius Nero, you may know me as the Pro Praetor of Hispania Citerior, or one of the candidates in the Consular election.
I would like to simply like to introduce myself to you a bit. Predictions in Rome are that in fact you and I will be serving as Rome's Consuls this comming year, so I figured that it would be appropriate to adress you.
I have heard great things about you, and I know you've made Rome proud on several occasions. I was very sorry that I was not able to attend your triumph in Rome. I would also like to say I felt that unlike that of Messala, your speech was very honorable. You focused on your stengths rather then other's weaknesses.
If we are in fact both elected as Consul, I would be honored to have you visit my home and such. Whether you or I am Senior Consul, I feel that we will need to work together as a team to combat Rome's challenges in the Senate and our frontiers. Have a great rest of the year, and whether I am elected or not, I will be returning to Rome, so either way, I look forward to seeing you in the Curia!
Sincerely,
Publius Claudius Nero, Pro Praetor of Hispania Citerior
