    In a roundabout way.

I think much much more in history was influenced by women than what is let on, or what has come down to us. Just think about it: every boy was reared by - one or several women. Many men were, and still are, being subtly led by their wifes. *g* And I donīt think that influence weared off very easily, despite cultural customs and traditions etc.

Allright, there were tribes in parts of the world in which the men took over the rearing of boys at the age of ca 7-8 years, but I think the "harm" was already done by then ;). So that is one way of women influencing which perhaps is overlooked a little bit.

What make women in general so invisible for much of history must have to do with the ability to read and write for one thing, and with the pattern of society not to let them have other positions than the one of household manager.

    Very general thoughts. :)
