Ok, since this discussion is creating more problems than it is solving, something Norv said about decisions that are or not documented made me think that maybe the best was to go back to the discussions we had about organizing this hood, so I spent last night reading it all. They are located here and on the Varangian hood thread in the Russian group. There's nothing hidden and for all to read if you want to check

First, about the text that appears in the Varangian hood main page, it was Anarane who wrote it, and she explains here: "[p]erhaps the description written for the LAND known as the Varangian Way was too definite, rather than being more descriptive of ALL the peoples who could be found in this geographic location. I admit, I wrote that so the place wouldn't be sitting there empty". So that text isn't supposed to describe what will be discussed in the various realms, it wasn't even supposed to be permanent (Ana, feel free to correct me if I understood what you said wrongly)

From reading everything, it appears that there was no plan regarding the Varangian Way until people in the Russia group manifested some interest in helping with that. There has been a chat, which transcript you can read here. The only thing that was decided is the way we would work on the hoods (first main hood page, then cities one by one) and what would appear on the main hood page (see Marduk Hannurabi's line at 18:19), namely discussion on the Vikings, with also something on other people present in the region (see Marduk Hammurabi's line at 18:20). Which is pretty logical since it's called the Varangian Way, which is a direct reference to the people of nordic origin who came to Eastern Europe. But discussions about what would be done with the cities was postponed after the main page would be completed, which sadly never happened

Oh and note to Norv: I couldn't influence that discussion since I didn't take part to it. You did

Soooo, basically, we're left with a big hood and no general direction. I don't mind not having one because, as I've already said previously, usually the first thing we do with write-ups is to describe the city and its history. There no bias towards one people or another - it's all about stating facts as we know them. This is what I've always done as a volunteer, and the kind of texts I've always seen proposed by volunteers as a scribe

That's what is usually done, but that doesn't mean it's what we have to do if it is decided by the Germanian scribes if they decide we should follow another path regarding this very hood. I think we all know by now that Norv is very much in favor of a hood oriented on the discussion of the Slavs....kidding :p Ok, Norv is very much in favor of a hood that's oriented on the Vikings. It appears from his posts that Ryurik was more in favor of various focuses depending on the city (see in particular this post - just a side note : he also states that he believed the Varangian Way was to discuss the history of Eurasia....). I'm either in favor of Ryurik's approach, although what I've done in hoods elsewhere until now was to have factual descriptions up first, and leave it to their citizens and administrator to orient it the way they want....but again, this is not my world and therefore the decision is out of my hands here ^-^

I guess the question now is: what to do (turning to the Germanian scribes)? Should we complete first the main page according to what was planned back in March? Or do we consider this void since much time has passed, and not all volunteers have manifested themselves since? And which way should we go with the rest? Since this was never decided before, I guess it is up to us now. Do we want to post also in the Russia group and set up another chat to discuss this anew (more likely after GF)?
