"If you're here for the funeral, you're a day late,"

I turn to look at the man squinting in my direction and observe the aftermath of an excellent party.

"Funeral eh? actually I was here for the living but while we're on it, who died?"

approaching I offer the suffering man my water skin before extending my arm in greeting

"I'm Ephiny by the way"

I smile and wait for him to drink and adjust to the torments of a fine day before pestering him further. After all I think to myself, I've been in his place far to often and have nothing but sympathy.
I at least hope the pleasure was worth the pain, it's always worse if it wasn't.
