a family would organize a large party of fiesta in their home, with prayers in Maya and Spanish, and ending with a marvelous banquet to which many guests, particularly relatives, were invited. This fiesta was called hanlicol (cornfield food) and also dedicated to the god of agriculture.
Unfortunately, these traditional customs and foods are slowly disappearing.
