    The origin of the name "Cherusci".

    I think I should spread this, because a guy had to search for two hours to find it out! I am very gratefull.

    "Cherusci" is what the greeks called them, because they couldn't pronounce the name right. They calles themselves "Cherusci". They named themselves after the swordgod, Heru, wich might be the same as the scandinavian god "Tyr". (Tio, Zio or Tiwâz) His sword was fashioned by dwarves, just like Thors hammer. It was magical, and would destroy an unworthy wielder.
