Sitting alone in the woods for many hours.
Squirrels thinking I was a runway to their acorn-laced stars atop trees.
Small children, following a trail. One saw me and spoke to me; I nodded and smiled and signed, not breaking my vow of silence. Somehow, he understood, and left, not perturbed.
If one is honest, or so I believe, a vision quest is not something sought after but just once in a lifetime. One needs to remember - and how else? Another vision quest, or more. One needs to experience more.
And what you learn is best brought back; back to the day to day. Back to life and living, not sequestered away where one can merely poke and prod at it, without the living of it.
I admit: My vision quest days described above were years ago, and I've lost track of some of the path. I think I still remember many of those signposts, though. And I anticipate this White Wolf group to be a steady place to work on experience and discussion. I'd like to transcend beyond poetry, intellect, and the bogs that we all find ourselves in.
Thank you, Bea, for forming this group.
