The Golden Brush Awards were designed to spotlight and award roleplay posts, journal posts, and historical posts from people in all groups all around the site. Given that, I'd agree it wouldn't become a popularity contest if the judges came just from Scribe's Palette. However, we might be more successful in finding enough judges by looking outside the group.
The group was originally conceived as a place to learn more about writing with particular emphasis on roleplay writing. I think the exercises in The Bone Yard and in Group Fingerpainting have been most helpful (at least for me) in that area. I'd like to tighten our focus to more heavily emphasize roleplay writing -- although I'm open to broadening it if others are -- or maybe it's not so much to emphasize it as to make sure new members understand that's what we're here for. Perhaps we need a new subtitle for the group so it's better understood?
