Good reviews or infamous publicity? It's a fine line when you're Simon Niall, a.k.a. The Suicide King.
Simon was born into an upper-class London family; his father was an ennobled soldier and his mother a Savoyard stage actress. He studied music and theatre from a very young age, and by his early twenties he was an acclaimed actor, dramatist, and songwriter.
Simon saw many successes in London, Paris, New York, Chicago, and Hollywood, and he has enjoyed great celebrity on both stage and screen. An extravagant spender, Simon often spent more than his family's fixed income. But his live appearances more than paid for his losses.
He briefly followed in his father's footsteps when he served in the British Army. While the nature of his involvement is unknown, espionage has been suggested.
So why get involved in organised crime in America? For the money? Certainly not. For the thrill? Yes, indeed. Philosophically speaking, when there are two illegal entities at war, affiliation with one enables one to execute justice upon the other. Simon naturally chose the MacRoth mob, as his father was very proud of his Irish heritage. And while he has had to spill blood in his career, he is first and foremost a gentleman thief, known only to the public as The Suicide King. This moniker originated from his ability to escape impossible, certain-death circumstances (e.g. exploding building, steep cliffs, dead-end alleys), leaving only his calling card for the police.
Other than his vaudevillian skills (acting, singing, dancing, acrobatics), Simon speaks French and is well practised in fencing and the use of firearms. Thus far, Simon has been very successful in protecting his public life from his private, more notorious one.
But he loves to read about both in the paper the next morning!
