There was an article recently in Popular Science, basically about how it'll be centuries until we figure out how to warp to other solar systems instantaneously, mostly because we don't know how to create a stable bubble of negative energy around the vessel, or how to shrink the fabric of space in front of the vessel and increase the fabric behind it....

Tis a shame.
