Although Hakuin had been looking forward to seeing Edward A. Morton's new Chinese musical, The Emperor's Own, he was beginning to wonder if this had been the night to do it.

He knocked on the door without much hope of being heard; judging by the shouting, screaming, and general commotion coming from within, it seemed that the people inside were somewhat busy with their own concerns.

He walked around the corner of the massive building where the unrelenting darkness discouraged him. As he came back around the corner he saw someone entering with an electric torch, but by the time Hakuin returned to the front door it was once again closed and locked.

"Hello? Anyone know the way to Daly's Theatre?" he asked the unresponsive door.
