I see a woman alone drinking what appeared to be blood wine.
As I walked to her table, she stood in the formal greeting of royalty.
"My name is Zen Plato, do you mind if I sit here?" I asked her.
"No, by all means, please. My name is Truely Your Leonidas, but everybody calls me Truely."
"How long are you in town?" I asked as she told me to sit.
"I live here know, actually, I just moved here from...elsewhere." She said. She sat down and took a long drink of her wine.
"Can I get you another?" I asked.
"No thanks. I have had twelve already, another would probably kill me."
We laughed. For the next many hours we talked about nothing really, just life in general.
"How old are you" I finally asked.
She paused obviously nervous about the question, "I am as old as I feel. But in years I am about two hundred, I have lost count after so many years."
I was shocked. She didn't look a day over 17. Then it hit me. "Your a vampire." I said out of breath.
She got quiet in her answer, "Yes, I am." She said.
