The beach where Pompey was murdered was near Pelusium, where both egyptian armies (Ptolemy's and Cleopatra's) faced each other in civil war.
Caesar later buried Pompey's head and a monument was erected on the place where his body was burned; Appian saw it.
Pothinus was executed on Caesar's orders after trying a treacherous move against him in Alexandria.
