Publius Claudius Nero approaches the podium in the Senate. Before he begins to speak, he takes a moment to look at the Senators and the magnificent architecture of the building. He laughs to himself because he knows to a veteran Senator that it is an everyday occurence, but for Publius, it is one of the most glorius moments of his life. He clears his throat, and begins to speak:

"Salutations my good Senators! I thank you for allowing me a moment of your utmost valuable time, and I thank you for allowing me the honor of being in your presence.

The political arena has always been something of great importance in my family. Long ago, just after the barbarian Celts sacked Rome through the north, and almost destroyed our great capital in 390 B.C., my great great grandfather was a Consul during this time. Rome was in desperate shape. Ravaged by the lust for blood of a weaker peoples, he and all of the other Romans were in a predicament. "What should I do?" My ancestor found himself saying. "Where shall I lead Rome?" Shortly after this attack, my ancestor helped to amass an army in Italia that the world had never seen before. He and his collegues madce sure that this trechery would never happen again, and he helped make sure that no foreign army shall ever enter the gates of Rome again. Shortly after amassing this army, the Latin League grew scared of us, so we conquered them all. Through my ancestor, we put together the nuts and bolts if you will of the Roman army. And because of this, we later conquered the Greek city-states in the south, and continued to expand.

Now I know Senators, some of you probably ask "What does this have to do with you? And why are you putting me through a history lesson of which I know?" Well, I'll tell you why. Because I am here in Rome, to do as my ancestors have done in the past, to build up the might of Rome so we are undisputed in all corners of the world. I wish to see a Rome at which the Gauls to the north tremble at the sight of a Roman sword. I want to see a Rome in which peoples of different areas across the seas migrate to Rome because they know we are superior to their own country. And I also want to see Rome developed so that it continues to be compared to the heavens.

It is easy to simply talk, one might say. And I know that talking will in fact be the easiest part. But what I ask of you today my fellow Senators, is to give me time, and I'll give you it all.

    Thank you."

Publius gets a cheer and walks back to his seat ready for what is next on the scedual of events for the day.
