    Interstitials

    Can you see
    the exquisite symmetry
    of the snowflake
    in the river waters?

    Can you smell
    heady rosepetals
    in the compost heap?

    Can you hear
    the nightingale sing
    in winter?

    Can you feel
    the loving embrace
    of departed
    loved ones?

    Yet,
    you suspect
    that
    in the spaces between,
in the lull of the wind,
    at the edge of sight
    and the limit of sound
    intricately encoded
    all is there,
    needing just
    the right light
    of your attention
    to spring into focus.
