Gamma Roca's suggested article was an interesting addition to this thread... The article talked about the interesting find at el Peru of two noble females who were ritually executed. They were perhaps from a rival city state. The only image in ancient Maya art of a female captive is at the site of Tonina in the Mexican state of Chiapas. The sculpture of this female captive is a bah relief in plaster and is represented with her hands bound behind her back and her ipil (Maya and Nahuatl word for dress) ripped in various places to show submission and humiliation.
