I am overwhelmed by the elegance of this hotel and by the company that I am keeping. Of course I recognise the famous Gloria Godswin, who is Lady Reylari's mother, but I am overwhelmed to be meeting my favorite star of the silver screen Charlie Chaplin! He is looking quite dapper this evening and does not seem at all to mind being in the company of several ladies.
He is every bit as charming as the reports make it, far more a lady's man than the 'Little Tramp' character he made famous.
The food is delicious and the entertainment is very Egyptian tonight. I am carried away by the dancing and the music. It is seldom that I am offered the opprotunity to "paint the town red".
Miss Godwins seems to take a special interest in me and wants to know all about my back ground.
She is suprised when I tell her that I was raised in a Scottish orphanage. "All my life I have had dreams of ancient Egypt. It is a dream come true to be able to live and work in this country".
Gloria Godwins can not help but compare the two young women seated side by side directly accross from her and Charlie. They are of the same age and coloring, but Miss Ahh has very long dark hair, and Reylari insists on that Louise Brooks bob.
Gloria Godwins is quite astounded to observe that both girls seem to speak and move at exactly the same time. Other than a difference in accent, the voices even sound the same. It is uncanny that there could be so many women who so closely resemble my daughter!
"What is you real name, Alura~Ahh is exotic and beautiful, but is it not a stage name?"
"Audrey Burns is the name I was given at the orphanage Miss Godwins, but in my heart of hearts I have really always felt myself to be an Egyptian."
