Kore, the maiden, is the daughter of Demeter, and goddess of the unripened corn. When Hades apears and sweeps her away to his stygian kingdom, she is thereafter refered to as Persephone.

Kore, the maiden, is an aspect of her mother, Demeter, and as such is worshiped together with her. An aspect of the ancient triple mother goddess. Kore represents the promise of youth and potential of things in the seed.

Modern pagans often worship Kore, both on her own, and in her tripple aspect with Demeter and Hecate.
