Listen lads to my sad tale
of the Holy Qwest, but not for whale
so sit ye down and pass the ale
I'll tell a tale of Vinland
It was a holy mission
to end pagan-christian frisson
and find lost souls of Vinland
It was in the court of Hakon,King
that I heard tell of this thing
lost souls into the fold to bring
the doomed souls of Vinland
From the port of Reykjavik
A lone report drifted back
Ten and Twenty sailed to Vinland
The tale it is a gloomy one
of Eirikr the Knut son
the mission doomed a'fore begun
the dark sailing to Vinland
Into the cold and Icy wind
Hakon,King did brave souls send
The mission to save Vinland
Ave Maria, send your grace
to souls lost in that distant place
what unknown dangers did they face
The holy mission to Vinland
Those poor souls were not alone
as proof they did leave rune stone
the lost souls of Vinland
