 Wild Greek Swans
The wild swans have returned to the 'Sacred Lake' of Delos.
Swans, pelicans, and cranes, all can be found here. It is considered to be a blessing from Zeus that these creatures can find
a home on a shore that seems to be so desolute. Yet many find sanctuary and refuge here, and it is regarded as a 'holy' place.
Ships, lost at sea, often drift in to the natual harbor. Crews desperate for fresh water find it at the ancient spring. The other
islands protect it, and many wonders have been associated with it since neolithic times. Out of the past mystery of time and illusion; here it is the real floating island, not lost in a foggy midst, but solid ground underneath our feet. It is a sacred land. It is sacred to many gods, humble though it may appear to be. The gods protect it.
It is the destructive humans who could not live with each other in peace that caused it to remaine empty for thousands of years. It is still a home to many, but one where now only the gods dwell.
