Candy Kane
Costume Designer
Age: Never ask a woman her age. The word on the street is that she’s 35 (thanks to Hollywood doctors, this rumor is a little off).
Height: 5’11”
Weight: Another one, although some local rags claim she's anorexic and weighs only 120 pounds…
Hair: Real hair color or current? Currently it is Candy Apple Red. Real hair color…can’t recall
Eyes: Brown, unless wearing favorite colored contacts: violet
Candy made her start as an understudy of sorts for the movie “St. Erasmus’ Fire” (1985). Not many outside of the business know of this start since Candy changed her name after this movie. She did various other teen movies that were released in ’85, but moved from coordinator to Costume Designer during the shooting of “Top Shooter” (1986). Her big break came when due to a mysterious illness during the taping of the movie, the Costume Designer became mysteriously ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. Candy was there to swoop in and calm the director, assuring him she was ripe for the opportunity. She was able to take the unnamed Costume Designer’s place.
Her career was the envy of all Costume Designers until the Scandal. She was called in as a consultant for the movie “Roman Arena Fighter” (2000) and was in charge of dressing the extras. They were properly clothed for the period, but the leads’s costumes were not accurate. Historical fanatics across the globe thrilled at pointing this out at every turn and, in the end, it made things difficult for Candy. Although her name was not that under “Costume Designer”, it was linked with the movie.
So, now she finds herself as an employee at Lazy Dog Productions. Although it wasn’t her first choice in Companies to work for, it was the only offer she had received in months. Although the pay isn’t what she’s used to, nor the quality of material, she’s stuck until something better comes along…if it ever does.
