The Mayan's and the Gospel seem to agree in that it will not be the end of the world, but as was said the end of the world as we know it. It indeed will be a time of transformation. According to the Bible, the mark of the beast precedes the second coming of Christ, and when He returns he will imprison Satan, and He himself will live, rule and reign for a thousand years here on earth.
