A novel idea! I get a good sense of the character you're creating. You did well on the colloquial speech, too. I had no trouble imagining a lady sailor.

Will this be a first person narrative? Is she pretty? Is she tall. Strong? What's her name? Most importantly, what does she want?

This should be quite fun and I'm looking forward to reading more.
