It is often the case that the once sacred myths and tales of the old ways are profaned in modern games and comics. Yet, in this way knowledge is preserved and dispersed. Much like the tales of Mother Goose and The Brothers Grimm in earlier times, the modern games and comics pass on information about the mythic past.
Too bad that like the other tale tellers, the modern games also blend and mix different tales freely without any attempt at accuracy. But if it inspires others to pick up the search for these same mythic threads then I do not think it is a bad thing. I just wish a little more research went into some of these things. I will periodicly pick up some of the source books for these games and the lack of research is loathsome. Not even Greek myths, which have been taught in the school system in America as standard fare since at least the 1920's are accuratly described in the game manuals.
I did a google search on umberlexicon. Several hits were on this thread, others led me to an on-line comic. I did not save the address, since there was clearly little substance to it.
