Rodd could hear the low hum of conversation even before he entered the 'commissary'...hardly more than a refurbished old garage if you were to judge by the stains on the floor. Certainly, the air was full of the odor of used grease!

His green-eyed gaze took in the crowd as he sauntered over to the lunch counter. He took a dish of soup, a small salad and the 'mystery meat', and a big glass of milk to wash it all down. Upon first taste, the 'meat' revealed itself to be highly unappetizing--some relation to the animal kingdom, but what was anyone's guess.

The other diners were dressed in a wide variety of costumes: a few 'working girls', some business men, and even a guy in a spandex suit with blue make-up--some sort of alien? Even as he started to eat at an otherwise empty table, a couple of large guys dressed as gladiators came in, muscles shining with oil and their leather harness suitably impressive. Rodd felt a bit less conspicuous, dressed as he was in skin-tight faded and artfully ripped jeans and a sheer mesh t-shirt cropped to reveal his nicely sculpted abdominals.

He noted that many pairs of eyes had taken in his entrance, and more than a few had seemed interested despite attempted boredom. He knew many ways to get roles in this business, not the least of which was sleeping with the boss, or the backer...the trick was to find who really held the strings, and set your sights for that person!

Legitimate movies aren't so different after all, he thought, idly rubbing his crotch. At least the money's better!
