I am going to disagree with your statements in concern of the barbarian nature of Greeks and their rut knowledge, which is eastern, established. The fact that even in the Homeric ages the peasants had knowledge of arithmetics and of writing (Od. r.XVI) articulates clearly that at list in times where kingship existed in the Greek political and social world did not affect the actual literary knowledge of the simple people. What we can say in contrary of the Egyptians, Mesopotamians and their elitism? What they offer in philosophical concepts more than the ‘sinister’ mysticisms?

    Yours,
