"By training our mind to recognize the spiritual lessons in all our experiences, we can come to view everyone and everything as our Spiritual Teacher, and we can turn any and every situation to our advantage. This is a very important understanding for it meant that no experience is ever wasted. The time we spend listening to Dharma teachings or reading Dharma books is usually quite limited, but if we can recognize the Dharma lessons in everyday life we shall always be in the presence of our Spiritual Guide."
An excerpt from "Eight Steps to Happiness" by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Tharpa Publications (www.tharpa.com)
