I remember reading the Evangaline Walton books :-)

Actually, I wasn't very keen on them, they were a bit... lurid for my tastes.

I have the Charlotte Guest version, which I bought for the beautiful Alan Lee illustrations. I also have the Jones and Jones version, which is the one I prefer.

Regarding online versions, there is a great one here - http://www.mabinogi.net/index.html - and it also has very good, extensive footnotes.
