There's a companion thread called "Journeys" that I'm afraid I don't have an archive of. That's when the party steps into the ... um... well, it's not exactly historically accurate, but it's like the in-between lands between our world and the Summerlands.
As far as the difference between IW and RP... as you can see, the Brugh board is primarily IW (Feargus, being the exception, preferred to RP and let everyone else do their things.) You will notice that in IW, we allow ourselves to involve other people's characters in what transpires--it moves the story along more smoothly.
Of course, it really works when people are familiar with each other and each other's styles, and their characters would likely respond, and oftentime the poster will consult their cohorts before they post.
I know sometimes I'd play along even when someone put something in Brandubh's mouth that I didn't think belonged for example:
Dubhglas Niall posts:
Dubhglas was sitting on the ground, playing a game. "Hey Brandubh, would you like to play rocks and sticks?"
Brandubh was curious to learn and agreed that playing would be fun.
Dubhglas proceeded to explain the rules, "You put the rock here, and the stick here."
Brandubh Niall posts:
Brandubh didn't know what came over him when Darwin asked if he'd like to play. He hated rocks and sticks, but maybe it was Dubhglas's charming smile that set him out of his mind, but after Darwin explained the rules Brandubh decided he really didn't want to be bogged down in such a ridiculous game.
"I'm going to meet Moss and Siofra. I understand young Mailie has said she'd wed yon Bonnie Clamora MacUrgle an' they're tryin to decide on flowers. Ye can come with me if ye like?"
Ye get the picture there do ye, Mannanan?
