A few moments after the slave of Lycos left Hermes knocked on the great door of The House Of The Faun. Almost instantly the door flew open and there stood the terrible Pomponia. She glowered at the young man.
"Well? What do you want?"
Hermes remembered Sextus warning and tried not to look into the old woman's evil eye.
"I bring a message from my Lord Sextus for the Lady Messalina."
He held out the scroll.
Pomponia snatched it from him. "Wait here." She said and slammed the door in his face.
Hermes sighed in defeat. Not a sight of Macro.
Fifteen minutes later she returned and handed him a sented scroll. "Here is her reply now off with you worm." And again the door slammed in his face.
He turned to head back home.
