Messalina unrolled the scroll again and looked at the invitation.
She smiled slightly then looked up at Macro. "Who brought this note?"
"I do not know him mistress, though he is a rather pretty boy."
"Hmm" She tapped the scroll on her chin. "Bring him to me."
Macro smiled and bowed.
Messalina leaned over the pool in the inner garden and admired her refection.
"My lady." Messalina looked up and smiled at the attractive slave.
"Take this message to your master. Tell him I would be delighted to accept his invitation. Ask him if he will send a litter for me as I do not know the way to his home. Oh and tell him I will come alone and be accompanied only by my bodyguards Macro, Demetrius and Apollonius."
The boy bowed and turned to leave.
"Is this wise my lady?" Macro asked.
"Why do you ask Macro?"
"This Lycon Leukippos has a bad reputation and is said to have debauched revels."
Messalina laughed. "Have I not the same said of me? It should be fun."
