The Oracles at Siwa had a lot to answer for later on.
Personally I think anyone co-inciding an invasion to remove Persian control with a handover to local Egyptian nobility was onto a winner. Without the Egyptian rebellions keeping the Phoenician fleets occupied, Alexander may have had a different crossing of the Dardanelles than the easy one he had.
