She hadn't spoken a word to her mother nor anyone else. Her emotions overwhelmed her like a wave of water over an already drowning person. What was she supposed to think? How was she expected to feel towards the people that uprooted her from the only stability in her life, the only way of living that she ever known?
Viveka let out a long, lingering sigh, tears stinging at her dark eyes as she sat up on the cot inside the isolated cabin. Her long locks of earthy hair cascaded over her narrow and delicate shoulders. Turning to face the circular window just above the bed, she peered out to watch as the land slowly grew smaller and smaller in the distance, being swallowed by the endless bulk of the crystaline blue ocean.
"Oh my Lord. What have I done to displease you?" She muttered in her soft airy voice of higher pitch. Tears flooded silently down her cheeks now. She felt as though she was being punished by the almighty which watched over his children from the heavens above.
Small, slender hands grasped the blankets of the cot, pulling them over her petite form which shook and trembled beneath the sheet of wool. Slipping back into the stomach of the bed, she began sobbing, her brown, almond shaped eyes being drawn tightly shut as streams of salty water poured from them. Just outside the cabin, her weeping could be heard by the crew. It was a heartbreaking sound, which resembled an orphaned child's in the cold, longing for the warmth and nurishment of it's mother's breast. It would seem as though her broken heart would never be mended.
