Believe it or not but I am still playing my Julian financial empire but something catastropic has just happened.

I had managed to expand into north western Spain without having to declare war on anyone, taking advantage of the collapse of the Gallic Empire. I was attacked by the Spanish and using my vast fortune of over 1.7 million denarii, roundly thumped them, forcing them to accept my protection. I was popular with the Senate and the People.

Then the catastrophy struck.

All of a sudden the computer decided to make my money disappear. In the space of one second by near 2 million fortune had become less than 50,000. Somehow or another the game managed to swap my bank balance for that of the Spanish!!!

My financial empire lies in ruins...
