    I've always seen the major reason behind the failure of Sulla's reforms as the opposition to them by a certain double act called Cnaeus Pompeius and Marcus Licinius Crassus, who just happened to share a consulship in 70 and seemed to make their main aim the repealing of much of Sulla's reforms
