    After Pertinax was killed by Praetorians angry at his lack of largesse, Septimius Severus accepted the proclamations of his Pannonian troops as Emperor, and was the founder of the Severian dynasty. Also covered here are the defeated Pertinax, Didius Julianus, Pescennius Niger, and Clodius Albinus. 193 - 211 AD ...

    You mean the historical error isn't that this account comes from the Historia Augusta, which is one big mistake?

    Seriously, Carlisle is in northern England near the Scottish border but if memory serves after his victories over the Caledonians and the following peace treaty, Severus retired to York, not Carlisle, where he would later die in 211CE
