< You left out the part about his first elevator research program when in July 4 th 1844, he try it out for the first time in a Barn located in New Bern, North Carolina when he put a cow and dog on it and it dropped on Farmer Brown and killed him at the bottom of the elevator shaft. Farmer Brown last words were " I told the dumb ass to put a rope on it and let it down easy">
