“NOOOOOOOOOOO!” I shout as I watch the Morna drop Eoghain with a cowardly slash from behind. I raise my shield and drive it hard into Aedh, dropping him to the ground.
“I will deal with you later.” I say to him as I make way for Eoghain, who has dropped to the ground as if he is dead.
Quickly closing the gap, Cearas is already attending to him.
“It’s a deep wound” she says. “We need to get him out of here.”
“The woman Dobhar has taken the bull and is heading back to Inver Colpa.” Someone at my side reports. I look and it is my niece Fionnamac.

With Eoghain down, it is I who must lead the clan through this battle. I turn to Cearas she nods with approval.

“Take Mugain and get Eoghain out of here. Head for the MacRoths, they will allow you to pass. Ride hard and get him back to the Dunn.”

Cearas nods in agreement and return to the Cean fine’s side. I turn to Fionnmac who has joined me.

“A bull is no good without cows.” I laugh. “The Niafer are fighting more with the Morna now than they are with us. Get the cowherds and get these cows behind the MacRoth chariots. This raid is over and it is a Cumhaill victory.”

“What of the Morna?” Fionnamac asks.
“They are after heads and not cattle. Theirs is a blood feud with Cumhaill and will not be resolved here.”
