The Greek geographer and historian Strabon, ca. 63 BC - ca. 21 AD, wrote Geografika in 17 books. In Geografika book 8 chapter 3 paragraph 30, Strabon refers to two Greek myths about the establishment of the Olympic Games. According to these myths, the Olympic Games was founded by Heracles the Dactyle or Heracles, the most famous and popular Greek hero; the son of Zeus and Alcmena.
