There is evidence that eating broccoli sprouts can cut risks for certain types of cancers, as well as help prevent high blood pressure, stroke, and cardiovascular problems.
Broccoli in its adult form is also beneficial, but the sprouts compact the appropriate nutrients.
The anti-oxidant glucorapharin appears to be implicated in the body-positive actions of this food.
The species name is Brassica oleracea, which comes in many varieties: broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower. All seem to have antioxidant components, to whichever degree (I'm not sure a comparision measurement has been undertaken.)
The plant is also closely related to collards, kale, kohlrabi, mustard, rape, rutabaga and turnips.
