While I haven't watched, to my memory, one right after another, I have watched many Chinese (and overdosed on KungFu movies when I was a teenager ;) and Japanese films over the years, Indian too...and American films/Australian/British/European et al. It's fascinating to get a glimpse into different cultures, though not always easy to grasp meaning or appreciate subtle nuances as they reflect very different societies.

I've never seen Crouching Tiger but on the strength of your comments, Suan, I'll get it out to view.

One of the most moving and frankly upsetting Chinese films I've seen would have to be Raise the Red Lantern. I recommend it if you haven't seen it. It's well worth seeing on many levels.
