Has anyone ever had the chance to watch both eastern and western movies, like real ones written, cast, and directed in their respective countries? (i.e. china and america) Movies are SO different from place to place. The vast changes in lifestyle and culture are almost startling when you have a chance to compare the two.

I always find it interesting to watch a CHINESE Chinese movie and then an AMERICAN American movie right after it. They are SO DIFFERENT!!!! And then, it is funny to see Chinese movies that attempts to portray America and visa-versa. For example, the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was directed in the States, but had very strong Chinese influence. The Americans (so i've heard) all thought it was "too eastern" for their tastes, but the Chinese all thought it was "too western"!!!!!

Has anyone else ever noticed this?
