I too am from Europe, but that's not the reason why I have problems with Paypal. Once I subscribed to it and I tried to use it to donate to a site: the instructions were a mess, the pages were very confusing and my payment never showed up. I wasn't even able to get an explanation about it. Now, this was some years ago so maybe it has improved, but I'm left with a certain diffidence.

More options would be good. A bank account in Europe would be great. However, another suggestion: would it be possible to make the payments through Amazon? They have the "honor system" that for me always works when I make donations to sites. It is always for free donations, though, so I don't know whether it can be used for fixed subscription fees.
